Honeywell Aerospace is forging ahead
As capable as the Forge data analytics platform
is today, Peterson said that it's just the beginning of
what Honeywell and its customers have planned.
"We're not even 20% through the journey of
where we want to be," he said. "From an industry
perspective, in the next five or 10 years, we're
going to start using all of the available data pipes
to get more information on and off the aircraft in
real time.
"Different organizations and service providers
will put the equipment and services on the aircraft,
because we're going to be able to use these pipes
to bring the cost of data down. We're going to find
predictive maintenance tools to help reduce costs.
Operators and passengers are going to want it.
Not because they have to, but because they can't
imagine being without it." q
