GARMIN announced the GI 275 electronic flight

instrument can now be interfaced with the GFC 500 autopilot
to deliver in-flight performance and added redundancy
when multiple GI 275's are installed in an aircraft. In
addition to GFC 500 compatibility, the GI 275 can serve as
a replacement attitude indicator and/or horizontal situation
indicator to legacy Century II/III autopilots, according to the
company. Additional features of the latest GI 275 upgrade
include the display of outside air temperature, groundspeed,
true airspeed and wind on the attitude indicator, as well as
data field enhancements on the multifunction display page.
"The new GI 275 has revolutionized fixed-wing general
aviation aircraft instrument panels, and today, we're excited
to grow its capabilities and compatibilities even further
to include support for our incredibly popular GFC 500
autopilot," said Carl Wolf, vice president of aviation sales and
marketing. "The GI 275 is capable of providing a staggering
amount of flight display information in a lightweight and
compact design that is easy to incorporate into a variety
of cockpits and with its expansive autopilot interface
possibilities, it's a must-have in every cockpit."

Garmin announced that it continues to roll out autopilot
aircraft approvals at an increasing rate for the GFC 500 and
GFC 600 autopilots. Several aircraft such as the Bonanza
B36TC, Cessna T210, Cessna 421C and Piper PA-46
are among the latest additions to a growing list of aircraft
approvals.
Garmin also announced certification of the G1000 NXi
integrated flight deck upgrade for the Embraer Phenom 300
business jet equipped with the Prodigy Flight Deck. The
G1000 NXi boasts an array of modern features, including
wireless connectivity, SurfaceWatch runway monitoring
technology, visual approach guidance, HSI map and more.
The displays also preserve the same mechanical footprint
and harness connections so time to complete the G1000 NXi
upgrade is minimized.

Becker Avionics
BECKER AVIONICS announced it will
soon receive supplemental type certificate
approval for its AMU6500 audio panel, first
by the Federal Aviation Administration and
later by the European Union Aviation Safety
Agency.
According to the company, it will replace
the former Baker audio panels in the
Piaggio P180 Series aircraft. These models
include the Avanti II and Avanti Evo aircraft
models. Becker's AMU6500 modification will
transform the audio system of the aircraft
from a mono source of audio to a stereo
source of audio. In addition to the stereo
audio, the AMU6500 will allow the owners
and operators of these aircraft to experience
a new range of extras.
The AMU6500 comes with: true spatial 3D
audio; Bluetooth connectivity; music input via
Bluetooth or 3.5 mm jack in the cockpit; and
increasing the availability of transceivers and
receivers from six to eight.
Becker Avionics, in conjunction with
Intercontinental Jet Services Corp. based
in Tulsa, Oklahoma, will provide the STC
to owners, operators and maintenance
organizations. Becker and IJSC began
accepting preorders of the STC package
in mid-July. The package will include the
structural components, electrical wiring
harnesses, and technical data package for
installation.
"The Piaggio aircraft is a perfect platform
for this STC," said Rob Truglia, business
development manager of Becker Avionics
USA. "The partnership that we have begun
with IJSC will extend the service life of the
Avanti aircraft for many more years."
