large picture windows with the high wing, so we see it
used in aerial firefighting. There are a lot of government
agencies that use the aircraft because it fits a tactical
environment fairly well.
What are your customers asking
for these days?
Everybody knows that Wi-Fi is the big thing. Of
course, we're installing a lot of Garmin products and
EFIS installations. Genesys just came out with an S-TEC
3100 digital autopilot that fits in the Twin Commander,
so we're starting to see requests for those. We're
looking forward to installing the Garmin GFC 600 digital
What does your new role as vice
president of maintenance entail?
My role now is less hands-on than what it was when
I was in the project manager role. Before, I spent the
bulk of my day down at the airplanes talking directly
with the technicians. Now, I spend a lot of my focus
finding where we can make larger improvements that
affect the entire shop, from our performance quality to
our training process to our invoicing and more. It's all
part of our ongoing effort to make Eagle Creek and the
