proprietary Artificial Intelligence-based algorithms and
is in active development in its research and development
laboratories, with first-generation boards and algorithms
undergoing trials.
Through Aperture, UA's dedicated team of engineers and
Artificial Intelligence specialists are forging a path toward
the delivery of augmented reality.
Innovative Solutions & Support
Innovative Solutions & Support announced that it is
taking orders for the ThrustSense Autothrottle system
with LifeGuard Protection for King Airs with immediate
deliveries and CJ series aircraft outfitted with Pro Line 21,
Pro Line Fusion. Deliveries should begin in early 2022.
The ThrustSense Autothrottle now features a
configuration adaptor that will allow an operator the
option to purchase the system for their current flight deck.
If they choose to install a new flight deck, the ThrustSense
system will transfer seamlessly.
The IS&S ThrustSense Autothrottle is a full regime
system that allows the pilot to automatically control
the power setting of the engines and speed targets from
takeoff to landing phases of flight, including go-around.
The autothrottle system is engaged for takeoff and
advances the Throttle Levers to the takeoff detent on jets.
After the five-minute takeoff power setting the throttles
automatically reposition to the climb MCT detent.
IS&S's patented LifeGuard feature provides critical
VMCa protection, eliminating low-and-slow challenges
associated with twin Jet operations.
The ThrustSense Autothrottle enables automatic control
of engine power settings guarding the power levels within
safe limits. ThrustSense will position the Throttle Levers
with precision and without " hunting " for a target air
speed.
The system's influence on safety is not limited to just
VMCa protection, however, as ThrustSense Lifeguard
manages engine power throughout all phases of flight and
eliminating over/under speed situations, further reducing
pilot workload.
Already proving its popularity, the IS&S ThrustSense
Autothrottle is standard equipment on the Textron
Aviation King Air 260 and 360 and is available for retrofit
on the King Air 200 and 300 as well as the Pilatus PC-12
Legacy and NG.

Flight Data Systems is a leading provider of flight

company announced the release of the next generation of
its flagship Handheld Multipurpose Interface Flight Data
Recorder data download equipment. The latest generation,
dubbed the HHMPI V3, features a new touchscreen,
updated firmware, and new networking capabilities.
According to the company, the HHMPI is a widely
adopted device used by the world's leading OEMs,
militaries, and MROs throughout all segments of aviation
and supports data downloading from most popular
recorder brands, as well as the SENTRY recorder
platform. It's new touchscreen interface allows for
modern, intuitive navigation and one-touch configuration
capabilities designed with maintenance professionals in
mind. The Ground Support Equipment allows technicians
to download data from multiple flight data recorder
brands, ensuring operational efficiencies for MRO
facilities and operators.
The new HHMPI V3 features exemplary battery
life, ensuring it is available as needed in busy facilities
handling multiple aircraft with tight turnaround times.
For existing V2 customers, the HHPMI V3 offers direct
compatibility with all V2 recorder interface cables,
providing simple and seamless upgrades.
FreeFlight Systems
FreeFlight Systems is a leader in high-reliability NextGen
solutions, and the company announced the RA-5500 and RA6500
TERRAIN series radar altimeters have completed major
certification milestones, including successful flight testing, in
its certification plan. With the completion of these milestones,
FreeFlight Systems expects to receive technical standard order
certification by the end of the year.
" The timing of this certification is crucial as the
accelerating deployment of 5G networks increasingly
challenges safety of flight of operators around the world, "
said Shane LaPlante, vice president of sales and marketing.
" The RA-5500 and RA-6500 radar altimeters provide business
jet and rotorcraft operators with a modernized, rugged, and
flexible radar altimeter solution that currently does not exist in
the market. We are eager to achieve TSO certification and look
forward to our launch later this year. "
According to the company, the RA-5500 and RA-6500
are the lightest, most advanced radar altimeters in their
class and have been specifically designed to coexist with
5G mobile networks. In addition, the RA-5500 and RA6500
add dual install capabilities in support of Part 25 and
29 certificated aircraft. q
