of the association's resources. I saw that AEA had a nice, solid
template for the training manual, which could have saved me a
lot of time. That manual was one of the hardest for me to write. "
Prior to Qmulus Aviation, Owens served four years in the
U.S. Marine Corps and worked for regional airlines, aircraft
manufacturers, charter member companies and aviation
government contractors. In addition to maintaining aircraft
during his career, he also managed maintenance facilities, a
quality assurance department, and a maintenance control and
planning department.
The experiences provided Owens with a unique
combination of technical skills, knowledge of the FAA
regulations and an understanding of business operations.

Beginning with the manuals, Owens put his expertise to
work laying out a business plan that he hoped would make
the repair station successful.
Building the foundation
In September 2020, Qmulus Aviation received its Part 145
repair station certificate from the FAA. Technicians provide
maintenance and avionics for single-engine pistons in the
service center's 6,300-square-foot hangar located at Caldwell
Industrial Airport in Caldwell, Idaho, 30 miles west of Boise.
