digitally through the brand-new Aerospace Education
Resource Online system, which is simply referred to as
AERO. Through the guidance of Aaron Ward, the AEA's
director of operations, AERO was introduced last month
for AEA members at aea.net/aero. If you work for an
AEA member company, I encourage you to visit the new
AERO platform and enroll in some of the online training
courses available. You will need your AEA member login
and password to participate. If you don't have a member
login, simply contact the AEA office, and our team will
be happy to assist.
And as part of the new AERO platform, access to
the annual Avionics News Technical Training exam will
be offered that allows exams to be graded real time,
certificates downloaded instantly and a record retained
for each participant. Technicians who successfully
complete the test will earn credit toward their repair
station training program requirements.
While the evolution of digital training is an opportunity
for nearly every occupation on the planet, the need for
personal interaction will remain vital for comprehensive
professional growth. Virtual trade shows and online
training platforms are nice. But I suspect most avionics
professionals are looking forward to the return of
in-person events this year, so check out the article title
" Getting back on the circuit " beginning on page 66,
which offers a preview of the major 2021 shows. At the
present time, most of them plan to be in-person events. I
look forward to seeing you at many of those shows later
this year, including the AEA International Convention &
Trade Show in Dallas, June 22-25.
