allow more time for COVID-19 vaccinations and for the
possibility of fewer travel restrictions. We will continue
to work with our hotel partner to ensure that we can meet
safely by following established protocols along with
guidance from the CDC and local government. "
The attendee full registration package includes: four
days of seminars and technical training sessions; exhibit
hall entrance for two full days with lunch; and networking
with manufacturing and distributors.
The AEA is honoring all convention attendee
registrations and exhibitor contracts previously transacted,
moving them automatically to the new dates with no
further action required by those already signed up for the
prior dates.

Attendees and exhibitors who made reservations at the
Hilton Anatole in the AEA room block for mid-March
should note that the hotel will close those reservations
and refund deposits to the credit card used to secure that
reservation. The hotel's policy is designed to help ensure
the correct arrival and departure dates are secured for all
attendees in June.

For those avionics professionals interested in attending
the AEA Convention in June but not yet registered, the
AEA extended its deadline for early-bird discounts to
March 31, 2021, from Dec. 31, 2020. The early-bird
reduced price of $675 (AEA member rate) for a full
convention attendee registration offers a $180 per person
savings off the on-site registration fee.

Back in the fall of 2020, the Experimental Aircraft
Association announced dates for its 2021 AirVenture

Oshkosh, an announcement with a subtle underlying air
of dogged determination to not repeat the dark year of
2020. With online ticket sales already available, the EAA
is banking on this year's dates - July 26 through August
1 - giving the community and the association a shot at
a normal show
season.
The 2021
AirVenture
Oshkosh will
feature expanded
warbird-flying
activities as the EAA fly-in convention commemorates
the 75th anniversary (plus one) since the end of World
War II. The 68th EAA fly-in convention takes place, as
always, at Wittman Regional Airport.
But the EAA still acknowledges that potential
roadblocks litter the path to the announced opening
day. According to the association, the dates depend on
the state of the pandemic in early spring, when work
normally begins to prepare the grounds for the anticipated
onslaught of exhibitors, vendors, display aircraft and the
typical thousands of general aviation aircraft flown in by
attendees.
So this decision - and the announced dates - hinges
on such details as the infection rate and other viruscontrolled conditions. Stay tuned.

DeLand Sport Aviation Showcase

The newest aviation-industry event on the annual
calendar
originally planned
earlier dates,
but pandemic
conditions in
Florida prompted
the organizers to
slide the dates
back to November
2021.
The show will still feature its best offerings - plenty
of light sport and experimental aircraft to examine and,
thanks to a focus on demonstration flights, numerous
opportunities to sample the aircraft displayed by
vendors.
