equipment during a mission, and I can look at it from a
maintenance technician's perspective. Also, because I
worked for big OEMs, I have a picture in my mind when
I talk to them about what it's like on their side and how
these big projects are being handled. So I have some
insight into their challenges and issues.
What issues are top of mind
for your customers?
Globally, I think it's about getting great support and
quality from suppliers. That's something that's just
never going to go away. I know of a major OEM right
now that is having a lot of issues with some suppliers.
They can't rely on them because the quality isn't
consistent. So they're constantly dealing with that and
will keep dealing with it for a long time.
Another thing is that technology is advancing, and it's
advancing really fast. Customers are faced with making
decisions about the obsolescence of their existing
systems versus what technologies are available.
What's on the horizon for AEM?
COVID-19 has impacted everybody. For us, it has
affected getting our products to market. Our Bluetooth
audio accessory development has been delayed due
to COVID-related challenges. Our TSO-pending launch
will now be in the first half of 2021. We have lots of
exciting things in development, but I can't talk about
those yet.
Considering everything you've
accomplished, what are you
most proud of?
Moving to Canada by myself. I left my family who I am
very close to in France and moved here alone. I'm very
excited to be at AEM. Whom you work with makes a
really big difference. Everybody here has been so great.
We're a pretty big company, but at the same time we
feel like a family. Kelowna, British Columbia, is one of the
most beautiful places in Canada. We have mountains and
lakes. It's absolutely stunning. It's big wine country here
so it's very beautiful, a lot like France. q

circumstances challenging our global industry, one
thing remains reliably constant. Our magazine,
Avionics News, continues to educate the avionics

membership, which includes businesses and
organizations in more than 40 countries.
