Of course, more speed isn't the only thing Gogo Business
Aviation's new generation of connectivity solutions brings to
an aircraft's cabin and cockpit. Aguirre is extremely upbeat
regarding the company's new Gogo Dash connectivity toolkit
app.
" Gogo Dash is our new app that gives pilots and
maintainers insights into how the aircraft's connectivity
system is operating, " he said. " It can help diagnose,
troubleshoot, and resolve system issues, manage connectivity
preferences, and that's just the beginning. "
Another recent enhancement to Gogo Business Aviation's
AVANCE system is the lowering of the system's operational
floor to 3,000 feet.
" Traditionally, our in-flight connectivity services would not
connect until the aircraft reached 10,000 feet above ground
level. But we recently lowered that to 3,000 AGL. This is
especially beneficial to operators of turboprops and light jets.
That adds another 20 minutes of connectivity time to the
typical trip, and that's huge for the many operators who fly
shorter trips and don't reach 10,000 feet or are at that altitude
for just a few minutes.
" We were able to make that upgrade because of the
flexibility of our AVANCE software platform. It allowed
us to implement that change automatically and required no
interaction by the customer or changes to the aircraft - and it
comes at no additional cost. "

Gogo goes all-in with its dealer network
Aguirre said that while Gogo Business Aviation has
achieved some significant milestones regarding product
development and service delivery enhancements, it
hasn't done it alone.
" Over the past 18 months or so, we have been closely
aligned with our dealer and customer council, which
represents an array of customers and dealers, " he
explained. " We have a long-standing policy of sharing
ideas with them before we launch any products to the
business aviation public.
" One of the things we have done with our dealers and
MRO shops has been to sit down with them to find out
how to make our equipment easier to install. How do we
keep it from becoming a burden both from a cost and
downtime standpoint? It's expensive to keep a business
airplane on the ground. "
Case in point, Aguirre shared how Gogo Business
Aviation's dealers were instrumental in guiding the
company's engineers on how to design the new 5G
antennas to fit in the same footprint as the current
AVANCE L5 antennas. That will greatly simplify the
installation of the Gogo 5G system.
" We've been working with our customers and dealers
to make the transition to 5G as easy and simple as
we can to save time and money for the customers and
installers, " Aguirre said. " We have worked hard to
leverage the experience and input from our experienced
dealers, and it's all been extremely valuable to helping us
reach our goals. " q
