name a few. New certified functions
for 2021 include FDAU and FDR
data concentration, FMS scaling and
pseudo ILS conversions for LPV
approach procedures.
Recently, Blue Avionics installed
a training-oriented certified ILS/
LPV offset capability in a Cessna
Citation 560XL, with an STC by
Duncan Aviation, which allows LOC/
GS offsets to be introduced by the
instructor. Aboard a Saab 340, the
company helped develop an STC by
C&L Aviation that performs ARINC
575 to ARINC 429 conversion,
ensuring ADS-B Out functionality.
Also recently, this time aboard the
Boeing MD series of jet transports,
Blue Avionics worked with LB
Aircraft Engineering to secure an
STC'd interface for FMS/displays/
FGCS and ARINC 575 to ARINC
429 conversion, providing coupled
RNP and LPV capabilities. For
the ATR 42/72 and Jetstream 41
regional turboprops, the company
has integrated the UNS-1Fw FMS to
Primus 800 via CSDB to provide LPV
and coupled LPV approach capability.

Buller Enterprises
As large as the global avionics
industry is, it's still small enough for a
niche-based family business to prosper.
Enter Buller Enterprises, the Fargo,
North Dakota-based manufacturer
of the Panel Pro, which the company
said is a " computer controlled router
optimized for aluminum sheet metal
1/8-inch thick. It is at home in avionics
shops, aircraft completion centers, or
anywhere complex routing is required. "
Company president Larry Buller is a
Vietnam-era U.S. Army veteran who
served as a helicopter crew chief. He's
a 10,500-hour airline transport pilot
who also holds an FAA A&P
certificate as well as an FCC
general class license.
The latest version of
Buller's machine is the
Panel Pro 6126. As its name
implies, it offers a 61-inchby-26-inch
usable cutting
area to accommodate large,
one-piece instrument panels.
It's an industrial-strength
router with full 3-axis electrical
control, sealed linear bearings and a
full range of accessories. The company
said the 6126 is a turnkey solution to
design and cut panels of sheet metal,
Plexiglas, honeycomb and composites
- even 4130 steel - in a short time.
In addition to the Panel Pro itself, it
Panel Pro 6126
comes with AvCAM operating system
software. The only other thing needed
to get started is a Windows 10-based
desktop computer to run the CAD/
CAM software to develop the drawings
AvCAM then sends to the Panel Pro.
