in Colorado; Miami and Fort Walton Beach in Florida;
Dallas, Austin and Houston in Texas, Westchester in
New York and a few cities in other states. In addition
to scheduled shuttle flights to these destinations, JSX
conducts charter flights.
The company's route network connects cities on
flights of two hours or less. Wi-Fi is considered a key
perk for passengers. It seems that in the world that has
weathered a pandemic, nobody wants to be disconnected
from the internet for more than a few minutes. JSX has
an advantage on these shuttle flights conducted from
private facilities. Passengers can cut down the wasted
time milling around the airport and going through
security for a typical scheduled airline flight. It's easy
for airline passengers to burn a couple of hours before
each departure.
SmartSky has obtained supplemental type certificates
for installation of its equipment on a range of business
and commercial aircraft covering more than 4,000
aircraft in service and has more STCs in the works
at the Federal Aviation Administration. Equipage is
completed through sales and installation agreements with
companies such as Flying Colours Corp., which provides
comprehensive maintenance, repair and overhaul. The
installation of SmartSky antennas and radio equipment is
available at its St. Louis location.

" Every time we talk to a customer about refurbishment
or completions, we have a connectivity conversation, "
said Kevin Kliethermes, director of sales for Flying
Colours Corp. " Adding SmartSky equipment to our
roster brings yet another dimension to our offerings, "
he added at the time of the agreement with SmartSky in
November 2021.
Thornton Aviation also has a sales and installation
agreement with SmartSky for work on corporate
and business aircraft at its Van Nuys and Burbank,
California, locations. " With one of the longest operating
MROs at one of the busiest general aviation airports,
we understand that a customer's in-flight connectivity
experience is a top priority, " said Vincent Russo, director
of avionics.
Western Jet Aviation is installing SmartSky equipment
in Gulfstream aircraft. The company has more than
120,000 square feet of hangar space and said it is the
largest independently owned business jet MRO facility
specializing in Gulfstream aircraft.
Jet East, a GAMA Aviation company, is also installing
SmartSky equipment at its facilities in Trenton, New
Jersey; Dallas, Texas; and Fort Lauderdale, Florida.
" Business aviation continues to experience a period of
growth, and we are seeing an increased demand for both
regular maintenance and upgrades to legacy aircraft to
keep them flying longer, " said Dwayne Chandler, Jet
East's senior director of avionics sales and business
development. He sees SmartSky as a good addition to
the company's portfolio.

The standard installation of hardware branded
Flagship consists of two antennas and an aircraft
base radio unit. SmartSky is working on an alternate
configuration for use in turboprop and smaller jet aircraft
