use of an adapter, upgrade your entire aircraft to LED. "
Rezaie played a video for attendees, demonstrating the
new LED light source's plug-and-play capability: Unplug
the fluorescent tubes' ballast and plug in the adapter.
Dimming and other features were immediately available.
According to the company, all of Aircraft Lighting
International's replacement LEDs are 100%
interchangeable with existing 12 mm fluorescent lamps
and require no rewiring, no new lamp holders, no new
connectors, no new dimmers and no new controllers.

Airtext
As its name implies, Airtext is in the business of
providing communications links to an airborne aircraft,
allowing passengers and crew to stay connected
electronically with business, friends and family contacts
" without the high cost of a traditional internet option, "
according to the company's website.
Jonathan Pinson, general manager at Airtext, told
AEA Convention attendees, " Our primary product is the
Airtext+, that
allows up to 16
simultaneous
users to use
the system and
connect via
iOS or Android
apps. It uses
the worldwide
Iridium network;
it works
Airtext+
everywhere in the world. The box is about a pound and is
about the size of a paperback book.
" It allows everyone on board to email, talk, text, send
WhatsApp messages and access moving-map data. It's
great as an internet alternative for people who don't want
the large usage fees or installation expenses. It's great
for smaller Part 23 aircraft, and recently, we've had a
lot of Part 25s, who may have an internet-based system
domestically but can't see spending the money " for a
worldwide satellite-based solution.
Pinson told attendees Airtext is continuing to do well,
with 60% growth year over year. " We've had a lot of
dealers tell us that if the interior's out or (there's) an
existing Iridium antenna, they can (install) the box in
