ALTO AVIATION announced that Brandon Klisit has joined the company as
senior technical sales manager. Klisit will report directly to Kevin Hayes, vice
president of sales and marketing.
Before joining ALTO, Klisit was avionics sales manager with
StandardAero, where he worked since 1999. Prior professional
experience includes IFR Avionics, Ameriflight, and Gulfstream
Aerospace, in addition to serving in the U.S. Marine Corps.
According to the company, he has extensive experience
as an avionics installer, avionics technician, avionics crew
chief, and avionics system engineer, with a deep knowledge
of avionics system integration engineering, certification,
installation, and operational checkout and troubleshooting on a wide variety of
business jet aircraft. Additionally, Klisit is involved with emerging technologies in
the aviation industry, specifically cabin management, in-flight entertainment, and
connectivity solutions.

Universal Avionics
UNIVERSAL AVIONICS, an Elbit Systems company, in partnership with HeliOne
(Norway) AS and the Bundespolizei-German Federal Police has successfully
completed test flights of its SkyVis Helmet Mounted Display. According to Universal
Avionics, the partnership is aimed at the development of a European Union Aviation
Safety Agency supplemental type certificate for SkyVis on H215 (AS332L1e) helicopters.
At completion, it will be the first civilian certification of a helmet-mounted display.
The SkyVis suite is comprised of a set of helmet-mounted monocle-type displays
used for the visualization of primary flight information. The system can be used
during the daytime, and can also be combined with night vision goggles for use at
night. It was noted during test flights that the SkyVis suite demonstrated a mature
system with a clear path to certification.
With the successful completion of these test flights, the company expects full
certification of the system on the H215 in 2022.
In addition, Universal Avionics was selected by Airbus Helicopters to supply its
EVS4000 multispectral Enhanced Vision cameras for installation on eight new Airbus
H145 helicopters destined to the Bavarian Police. The addition of the EVS4000
improves safety by increasing situational awareness in low-visibility situations, including
inclement weather and during night missions, according to the company.
