WHAT THEY DO: EAMTC is a
professional trade association for the
aviation maintenance training industry,
representing more than 100 member
companies and organizations.

agreement between the organizations in July 2022.
One of EAMTC's core goals is to be a single voice for
Europe's aviation maintenance training. In July 2022,
EAMTC and the International Association of Aviation
Personnel Schools signed an agreement to cooperate in all
areas of training, including development, methods, delivery
and assessment. The partnership further strengthens both
organizations, providing a unified voice to EASA and other
authorities and industry stakeholders, according to Mayer.
Rethinking the way technicians learn
Through its working groups, EAMTC tackles issues of
common concern and shares the outcome with members and
industry stakeholders. The most critical training issues are
familiar to aviation professionals around the world - attracting
the next generation of aircraft mechanics, keeping up with
new aircraft technology and developing new training methods.
One issue that's becoming an important subject for
authorities as well as training organizations is how to better
assess trainees' abilities, from basic training up through type
ratings, according to Nusret Bulent Topcu, who serves on
EAMTC's New Training Standards Working Group, and is
Part 21 quality supervisor and chief of independent system
monitoring for the design organization at Turkish Airlines
Technic, Aircraft Maintenance Services Inc. in Istanbul, Turkey.
" The increases in numbers and types of aircraft as well
as new technologies create skill assessment challenges,
especially for the future of aviation, " Topcu said. " Our aim
is to move away from copy and paste methods and become
more learning-centric and innovative while keeping the
safety posture solid. "
