FFA Selected as Chosen Charity
It was an honor to have Col. Nicole
Malachowski (USAF, Ret.) as guest speaker
for the Convention. As the first female
Thunderbird pilot, Col. Malachowski shared her
stories of the ups and downs of life as a fighter
pilot and how she worked to make her dream
of becoming a member of the Thunderbirds Air
Demonstration Squadron a reality.

Country Insurance, kicked off the industry
annual convention with remarks about the
success of crop insurance as the cornerstone
of the farm safety net. "Everyone involved
should be proud of the work they do to
safeguard and protect the American farmer
and ultimately the food source that helps feed
the world," said Korin. Heitman echoed Mr.
Korin's comments saying, "...you are all to be
congratulated for your work with our nation's
farmers, growers, and ranchers."
Each year during the Annual Convention, AACI and NCIS selects a
charitable organization involved in agriculture to highlight and encourages
attendees to support financially through donations made during the
convention. This year's charity was the National FFA Foundation. FFA is
a dynamic youth organization that changes lives and prepares members
for premier leadership, personal growth, and career success through
agricultural education. FFA develops members' potential and helps them
discover their talent through hands-on experiences, which give members
the tools to achieve real-world success in a broad range of agricultural
career pathways. FFA members live the motto Learning to Do, Doing to
Learn, Earning to Live.
Through the contributions of attendees and a generous donation
from Rain and Hail L.L.C., the industry raised $5,000 for FFA during the

Winners of the annual golf tournament were Mickey Paggi, NCIS; Josh Bright, ARMtech
Insurance; and, David Govrin, Third Point Re USA. The threat of rain caused the event to be cut
short, but everyone still enjoyed the outing.
