NCIS staff provided several updates throughout the two-day webinar. Mark Flohr highlighted
new MPCI loss adjustment handbooks for the
new Apple Tree, California Citrus Tree, and APH
Florida Citrus policies. Don Hutsell covered the
Prevented Planting Standards Handbook and
Loss Adjustment Manual (LAM) changes. The " 1
in 4 " rule for prevented planting has been expanded nationwide based on recommendations from
the Prevented Planting Task Force that included
representatives from RMA, producer groups, crop
insurance agents, and AIPs. The LAM changes
included updates on 1st/2nd crop and self-certification replants. Loretta Sobba and James Houx
explained some of the revisions to several CropHail loss adjustment handbooks including corn,
soybean, sweet corn, popcorn, and cotton, which
updated the cotton stepladder example. (Figure 1)
Representatives from AgriLogic, a consulting organization who has developed several new
products for the crop insurance industry, were
on hand to provide updates on some of those
new products. Kim Harris gave an update on
the new Hemp insurance policy, which was initially released for the 2020 crop year. (Figure 2)

tucky were number two and three in planted
acres at just under 8,000 and 4,000 respectively.
The program has been expanded for 2021 and
will include additional counties in Colorado,
Kentucky, Michigan, Montana, New Mexico,
Tennessee, and Virginia. It will also be insurable
in Arizona, Arkansas, Nevada, and Texas.
Nicole Gueck, AgriLogic, gave a presentation
on the new California Citrus Tree policy focusing
on the loss adjustment procedures for the claims
