What an amazing opportunity to share our doll collecting passions with our fellow collectors! The name of this year's convention is so fitting because we do not all have the same passions, but we are all united by our passion for dolls. We collect everything from Brus to Barbies and UFDC is our doll club where we can unite to share our knowledge, learn from our fellow collectors and have fun playing dolls again. Meet a Member When we share our passions we realize that our fellow members are as diverse as our collecting interests. Meet Debbie Garrett, a Motor City Doll Club member Debbie doll enthusiast who Garrett shares her knowledge and passion for vintage-to-modern black enjoys collecting vintage-to-modern dolls through her articles, books and blogs about them. black dolls with a preference for articulated fashion dolls, one-of-a-kind artist dolls and dolls from the 1950s and 1960s. Debbie loves writing about the dolls she collects and maintains the Black Doll Collecting blog at She has written numerous articles on black dolls, which have been published in several major doll publications including Doll News. Debbie has also written three books on the subject of black dolls: The Definitive Guide to Collecting Black Dolls, Black Dolls A Comprehensive Guide to Celebrating, Collecting, and Experiencing the Passion, and The Doll Blogs: When Dolls Speak I Listen. Initially a UFDC member-at-large, Debbie joined the Motor City Doll Club in 2012. When she is not sharing her passion for dolls, Debbie enjoys reading, watching informative documentaries, and spending time with her family, including her two grandsons who are her "favorite one-of-a-kind dolls."
