"Pla-mates" dolls, made by the Eugenia Doll Company, were featured in the 1948 Montgomery Ward Christmas Book. Labeled "New dolls with life-like expressions for real children," the bottom of the page talks about quality in the dolls, clothing, wigs and the various types of baby dolls available.
