Madame Alexander's Legacy of Brides Photographs Courtesy of Theriault's by Rodney Waller W ith the month of June, weddings and brides move to the forefront of our thoughts as wedding plans reach a crescendo during this time of the year. June is traditionally the most popular month to marry. In fact, my wife and I married in June. Perhaps couples choose June to marry, because the month is named in recognition of the goddess Juno, the protector of women, especially in marriage and childbearing. Or perhaps that in medieval times a person's annual bath usually fell in May or June so that June brides would "smell relatively fresh." Regardless, being a June Bride has been a favorite time of the year to marry. Madame Alexander has created a legacy of bride dolls, many were named "June Bride."
