This group of six dolls comprise a wedding party with the bride, groom and four bride maids. Probably not used as cake toppers, they were probably party favors and date to the 1920s. Standing 7-inches tall, they are entirely made of crepe paper with painted features. Under the ladies' skirts are cardboard "funnels" that stiffen out their skirts and help them to stand up. The bride has ribbon and lace used for her outfit in addition to her crepe paper under dress. A detail of the bride shows the nicely painted expression on her face. The groom seems very cheery. 22 SPRING 2020
