unlined, and with a single snap at the waist. The
headdress has a face-framing single ruffle, red
fabric with overlay of black and finally white lace.
A longer strip of white lace is attached and falls to
cover her arms but is open at the back. Her blonde
bangs hide the fading of her forehead.
Blue satin and lace dress the Israeli Bride. Her
dress has a full skirt trimmed in white rickrack
with a silver ribbon band at the waist and at the
hem. A strip of now-familiar lace covers her hair
but is open down the back. A blue tulle band holds
the lace in place. She wears a Star of David on her
chest. Her face has suffered splotchy fading. A
sticker on the front proclaims a price of $9.95, but
whether that is original or not is a good question,
since it is just a little round white dot.
Yellow satin makes the Brazilian Bride a
standout. Her bodice has long sleeves with yellow
rickrack and lace trim, her full skirt is edged in
white satin and green rickrack, and she has a strip
of lace for a shawl which matches her lace overskirt.
Her headdress is yellow satin, tied like Chiquita
Banana's kerchief and adorned with white flowers,
and a net veil covers her unfaded face.
Finally, the American Bride, a vision in
traditional white, with organdy bodice, sleeves,

The English Bride has the fullest sleeves in the group and is
very traditional. Her dress is reminiscent of Princess Diana's.

The English Bride's dress is quite lovely from the back as well.

collar and overskirt and taffeta underskirt, straight
sleeves edged in delicate lace, as is the neckline and
gathered collar. The overskirt has two rows of lace-edged
pleated trim. Her net veil hangs to her ankles in back,
and falls to the waist in front, held in place by a band of
flowers on a long white ribbon. The flowers match the
Brazilian Bride's, and her bouquet is very like that of the
English Bride, made of pink and white flowers. Her face
remains factory fresh.
Given the identical storage conditions (the collection
was stored in the same box in a closet), I am at a loss as
to why some dolls have faded a lot and others have not.
They have literally been in the cardboard box they were
shipped in, in the corner of a closet, since I received them
in the early 2000s.
The Brides are charming and make a lovely display,
even in their boxes. The international sets were
apparently the last Ginny offerings by Lesney since the
company went into receivership in 1982 and Meritus
Industries acquired the rights to Ginny.
