Establishing and Curating a Virtual BLACK DOLL Museum By Debbie Behan Garrett I One of the antique dolls in the museum is a 1920s 18-inch composition character doll by Koenig & Wernicke from the collection of Vicky Hoff Forbes. Forbes' K&W doll's adorable face is captured in the close-up. 104 SPRING 2021 am a doll collector, doll historian, and Black-doll reference book author. In 2020 I established and now curate the DeeBeeGee's Virtual Black Doll Museumâ„¢, which opened to the public on January 17, 2021. This is an online WordPress site devoted to collectors of Black dolls and to those who share a keen interest in Blackdoll history and information. The goal of the museum is to curate and install images and descriptions of 1000 Black dolls from the combined collections of the curator and the global museum patrons.
