News from the UFDC Museum

espite the challenges of the past year the Collections Oversight
Committee is pleased to report that good things are happening
within your doll collection, housed at the UFDC museum in Kansas City.
Thank you to all the members who have contacted the committee
in the past year to offer donation of dolls from our Wish List. These
donations have filled in gaps in the collection and in some cases
allowed us to " trade-up " to better examples of dolls we had previously
acquired. All of these donations have been added to the collection
under the guidelines adopted by our Board of Directors to ensure that
our collection meets the highest professional standards possible. Your
continuing support of the museum allows for our organization to fulfil
its mission to preserve dolls and to share the ongoing story of dolls with
the world.

have been set and are being implemented include making the collections more accessible online and
providing additional educational information to future museum visitors. There are currently projects
under way to improve control over environmental conditions benefiting the preservation of our
collection.
Your Collections Oversight Committee is privileged to work on behalf of the membership of UFDC
to preserve, protect and advise on the growth and direction of the museum collections. We are grateful
to the Executive Committee, Board of Directors, the Fundraising Committee and Office Staff who
constantly work with us and to all the committees that worked before us to lay the foundations for our
on-going endeavors.
But above all we are grateful to each member of UFDC for your support of the museum. The dolls,
ephemera archives and library belong to all of us and are important and wonderful collections that we
are all building together. Only your continued support through donations to the collections and to the
museum fund, along with your willingness to share your doll knowledge and special skills, will allow
us to continue to strive toward our goal of being the best doll museum in the world.
Currently serving you on the Collections Oversight Committee are: Alisha Cole, Linda Edward,
Neal Foster, Maryll Goldsmith, Susan Hedrick, Laurie McGill, Ursula Mertz, and Bob Peterson.
