new IEEE 1918.1 Standardisation Working Group on Tactile Internet. He is Vice-Chair and a Leadership Member of the IEEE
Dynamic Spectrum Access Networks Standards Committee (DySPAN-SC), is Vice-Chair and member of IEEE 1900.1,
Chair and member of IEEE 1900.6, Vice-Chair and member of
IEEE 1900.7, and Vice-Chair of IEEE 802.22. He is Chair of the
new IEEE Standards Committee on Mobile Networks (MobiNet). His expertise is on TVWS and other spectrum sharing

Research Fellow at the Department of Medicine and Health

research interests involve magnetic localization systems
for biomedical and industrial applications, cognitive radio
systems for new generation communication technologies, measurements in telecommunication networks, sensor networks
for environmental monitoring and measurement characterization of medical devices such as brain computer interfaces.

Apurva N. Mody (apurva.mody@ieee.org) is the Founding
Chairman of the WhiteSpace Alliance for which he is responsible for the vision, direction and execution of its various
activities. He has served as the Vice Chair and Chair of the
United States National Spectrum Consortium and is the Chairman of IEEE 802.22 Working Group on Wireless Regional Area
Networks (www.ieee802.org/22). Dr. Mody received his Ph.D.
degree in electrical engineering from Georgia Institute of Technology in Atlanta, Georgia. His expertise is in spectrum sharing,
dynamic spectrum access and White Space communications.
