to be done. The small sample size prevented the system from
experiencing much variance, as the same participant slept in
the same bedroom environment that had consistent parameters. The experiment also occurred during the summertime
when the ambient temperature is warmer so additional temperature settings would need to be evaluated. Perturbations
would need to be included in future studies to introduce
abrupt noise and light to verify their effects on sleep so the
correlations can be analyzed in future algorithm models.
Overall, we have demonstrated the feasibility of conducting
an IoT-based at-home sleep study, and this paper will assist in
planning for future IoT-based sleep studies.
