the iTEMP TMT142B, a
new generation smart
temperature transmitter
with Bluetooth. The
transmitter delivers highly
accurate and reliable
measurements, wireless
communication via Bluetooth,
and user-friendly
operation-all packaged
in a robust single-chamber
field housing. The technology offers significant improvements
in process efficiency and plant availability while reducing
costs.
In industrial process engineering applications, temperature
transmitters are an important link between temperature
sensors in the process and the higher levels of automation.
Measurement instruments are often installed in difficult-toaccess
locations, which frequently makes commissioning,
operation and servicing more difficult.
To address these and other issues, the transmitter features
a highly secure integrated Bluetooth interface that enables
users to wirelessly visualize measured values, NAMUR NE
017 diagnostic information, as well as perform configuration
tasks. The device is extremely easy and fast to operate
using your phone or tablet and the Endress+Hauser SmartBlue
app. No special tools are required. Access to the device
is password-protected, and Endress+Hauser security provisions
for Bluetooth communication complies with the highest
standards.
The conversion of different sensor signals into a stable,
standardized output signal (4 to 20 mA) represents a logistical
challenge as it often requires multiple transmitter variations.
To meet this challenge, the configurable single-channel device
transmits converted signals from resistance sensors (RTD),
thermocouples (TC), resistances (Ω) and voltage transmitters
(mV) via the 4 to 20 mA signal or the HART 7 communication.
The iTEMP TMT142B temperature transmitter is designed
for safe operation in hazardous areas as certified by international
approvals (ATEX, CSA C/US, IECEx).

In the aerospace and
wind energy industries,
critical components such
as aircraft wings and wind turbine blades are made with
lightweight, durable composite material. Inspectors use nondestructive
testing technology to ensure the integrity of these
parts, both before they are assembled and for in-service maintenance.
Ultrasonic testing is a standard method, but the parts'
extensive surface areas, the attenuative nature of composite
and the complicated operation of some ultrasonic testing
equipment can cause problems. The new RollerFORM XL
scanner is an innovative and easy-to-use phased array wheel
probe that helps resolve these issues.
Based on the field-proven design and performance of the
original RollerFORM scanner, the RollerFORM XL scanner's
tire with integrated phased array probe provide a beam coverage
that is twice as wide. Scanning large parts is more efficient
and the data's accuracy is improved since the wider beam coverage
also increases the probability of detection.
Light and easy to operate, the RollerFORM XL scanner
takes minimal effort to set up and inspect compared with immersion-based
testing. Strong, reliable signals are obtained
without a coolant pumping system thanks to the scanner's innovative
tire. Interface reflections are minimized because the
tire is filled with liquid and the material has an acoustic impedance
that closely matches water. This similarity enables the
ultrasound beam energy to transmit efficiently into the part.
With minimal setup, inspectors can implement this selfcontained
wheel probe system to not only save time, but also
improve the accuracy of their results.
