engineers work. As many engineers move to off-scope environments,
Tektronix's new Multi-Scope Analysis feature
allows the engineer to process, analyze, and share data efficiently,
without having to be physically next to a scope or in
the testing environment.
Unlike other software, the Multi-Scope Analysis feature
enables customers to remotely control the acquisition settings
on all scopes simultaneously without the need to set up each
scope individually. Customers asked for a solution with high
resolution that can catch very fast glitches across many channels
at once. The Multi-Scope Analysis feature on TekScope
solves that need.
TekScope is compatible with data taken from all Tektronix
scopes so users can leverage Tektronix's UI and analysis features
for all existing scopes. Customers can remotely connect
to Tektronix 4/5/6 Series MSO, Tektronix 5/6 Low-Profile
scopes, Tektronix DPO 70000C, 70000SX and 70000DX scopes,
as well as Tektronix Bench scopes TBS 1000 and TBS 2000.

Sourcing and Measuring of Currents and
Voltages with High Precision

measure units (SMU),
Rohde & Schwarz enters
a market previously not
addressed by the power
products of the test and
measurement specialist.
The performance of the
new R&S NGU201 and
R&S NGU401 SMUs enables
simultaneous sourcing and measuring of currents and
voltages with high precision. The two-quadrant R&S NGU201
addresses wireless device battery tests and automatically
switches from source mode to sink mode at a defined positive
input voltage. The four-quadrant R&S NGU401 can also
switch at negative voltages, supporting source measurements
for a vast range of power supply types.
The instruments' innovative current feedback amplifier
technology provides both maximum sensitivity and accuracy
to reliably measure currents from nA to A in a single sweep.
To handle rapidly changing load conditions typical of batterypowered
communications devices switching between sleep
and transmit modes, the R&S NGU features an optimized control
loop load providing a best in class recovery time of under
30 μs with minimum overshoot.
The R&S NGU SMUs include six current ranges from 10
μA with 100 pA resolution, to 10 A with 10 μA resolution.
For all ranges, accuracy up to 0.025% is achieved. Voltage is

measured with 10 μV resolution in the 20 V range and 1 μV resolution
in the 6 V range. Devices up to 20 V, 8 A, and 60 W are
all supported.
The two-quadrant R&S NGU201 is optimized for battery
drain analysis of any battery-powered device, including
mobile phones, tablets, and the full range of IoT equipment.
Design engineers can use it to simulate real-world battery
characteristics. Once the battery model characteristics are defined,
they can be re-used whenever required. With its 8 A
maximum current, the instrument even supports fast-charge
applications.

Safety Encoder with Ultra-Compact
Dimensions
With the TRK38, TWK
introduces an ultra-compact
single-turn magnetic
encoder developed with
safety-oriented applications
in mind. With a
diameter of only 38 mm
and a length of also 38 mm,
the sensor is suitable for
mounting in confined installation
spaces. The
safety level is high: the
safety encoder detects position
and speed and fulfils
the requirements of SIL 2
(IEC 61508) and PL d (EN
13849). The safety related
signals are transmitted via
a certified EtherCAT FSoE interface.
Packaging has become a key factor in many stationary
and mobile machines. The TRK38 single-turn magnetic encoder
measures just 38 x 38 cm (diameter x length) and is thus
extremely compact. The weight is also exceptionally low at approx.
60 grams. Despite the reduced weight and size, the user
does not have to compromise on performance. The TRK38
detects position and speed in a safety-oriented manner and
fulfils the requirements of SIL 2 (IEC 61508) and Performance
Level d (EN 13849). The position resolution is 16 bits per revolution.
The certified EtherCAT FSoE interface ensures reliable
transmission of the safety-related signals to the higher-level
controller or to a safety relay, as well as programming of the
sensor.
Despite its very compact dimensions and high-quality design,
the TRK38 is also competitively priced with alternative
devices such as sine-cosine and incremental encoders. And
