This CNC lens turret allows
for nine automatic,
programmable magnification
changes-three optical and six digital-within a CNC
program. The system is both parfocal and parcentral: parts on
the stage stay in focus and stay centered when magnification
and focal length is changed.
Three internal lenses offer 2-inch, 1-inch, and half-inch
fields of view-permanently mounted in a shop-hardened
motorized turret.
Before this innovation, operators were required to manually
unscrew a lens, attempt to safely store the lens, screw in a
new lens, and recalibrate. The innovative c-vision Lite lens turret
system allows for these changes automatically, and as part
of a CNC program, resulting in far faster, and more accurate
measurement results.

Process plants typically
use a multitude of sensors,
each of which is
normally connected to a
transmitter. Older sensor
technologies use analog
signals to communicate
wi th transmi tters, but
more modern models employ
digital technology to improve accuracy, ease calibration,
simplify troubleshooting, and reduce required maintenance.
Endress+Hauser Memosens technology converts the measured
value to a digital signal and transfers it inductively to
the transmitter, offering safe data transfer for increased availability
of the measuring point and trouble-free operation. With
Memosens 2.0, liquid analysis measuring points now become
completely future-proofed and ready for IIoT. This new technology
is available for pH/ORP, conductivity, and dissolved
oxygen sensors-and it will be extended to the complete sensor
portfolio for liquid analysis.
Memosens 2.0 sensors store numerous relevant data points,
such as operating hours, minimum and maximum temperatures,
measured values, calibration histories, and load
matrices. All this data can be used and processed for comprehensive
analysis and more precise process management.
Memosens 2.0 combines cutting-edge technology with
maximum practicability. Because the Memosens sensors are

equipped with highly integrated electronics, they can be calibrated
and adjusted under lab conditions that are favorable
for the operator, and stable for precise results. Replacing sensors
in the field is a simple process and can be performed in a
timely manner thanks to the lockable bayonet connector and
automatic sensor identification by the transmitter.
Non-contact digital data transmission eliminates the effects
of moisture, corrosion, and salt bridges-with alert
messaging if the signal transmission is disturbed by other factors.
Galvanic isolation ensures accurate measurement in the
presence of electromagnetic interference and other electrical
noise. Memobase Plus software provides full traceability of
all sensors used, supporting operation according to the strict
guidelines applicable to various regulated industries. Memosens
2.0 offers error-free flexibility for measuring points in
hazardous areas because all explosion proof sensors can be
connected to all Endress+Hauser transmitters with the same
ratings.

Predictive Maintenance A Reality for
Efficiency-Focused Plant Operations
For condition monitoring,
drive and status data are
recorded periodically or
continuously to optimize
the operational safety and
efficiency of machines and
plants. Condition monitoring
provides valuable
information for predictive
maintenance with the goals
to address service issues proactively, reduce downtime, and
increase overall plant efficiency. Data from digital and analog
sensors play a central role in condition monitoring, replacing
time-based maintenance with status-based maintenance, and
NORD's integrated PLC allows for easy integration with both
decentralized and control cabinet solutions.
NORD's condition monitoring system can be programmed
to record drive and status data periodically or continuously
via the internal PLC within the variable frequency drive.
This fully integrated PLC can capture and pre-process specific
parameters and drive-related sensors without the need
for an external controller. The results are then provided via
the PLC output parameters and can be sent and saved to a local
dashboard via Industrial Ethernet (e.g., PROFINET IO) for
visualization.
In addition to built-in measuring capability, each NORD
drive unit can also evaluate external sensors including those
