5G device test platform that supports RF and protocol

Microwave Measurement Receiver
With the R&S FSMR3000,
Rohde & Schwarz has
developed a microwave
measurement receiver to
calibrate signal generators
and attenuators with one
single instrument. Most
important features provided
are tuned RF level measurements, level measurements,
analog modulation and spectrum analysis. Additionally, the
R&S FSMR3000 can be equipped with powerful hardware
for high-end phase noise test supplementary to the standard
phase noise test with the spectrum analyzer. It offers also digital
and analog modulation signal analysis, 80 MHz analysis
bandwidth, analysis of pulses and VOR/ILS signals. The R&S
FSMR as a single box instrument is designed to reduce the
complexity in calibration capabilities for the Aerospace & Defense
industry.
Along with level calibration, the R&S FSMR microwave
measurement receiver provides analog AM, FM and φM modulation
analysis. The R&S FSMR3000 is designed to make
signal generator and attenuator calibration less complex and
includes features that make calibrating lab test processes easier.
The 8 GHz, 26.5 GHz and 50 GHz instruments provide all
necessary measurement capabilities in a compact single box
instrument.
The high dynamic range of the R&S FSMR has a level
measurement range of -152 to +30 dBm. The low linearity uncertainty
in the instrument of ± (0.009 dB + 0.005 dB per 10 dB
step) together with absolute power sensor calibration provides
highly accurate signal level measurements, where the
R&S NRP50T can cover the whole frequency range from DC
to 50 GHz.
Built-in analog modulation analysis is available for AM,
FM, and φM modulation measurements. AM modulation
depths from 0 to 100% and FM frequency deviations as wide as
16 MHz can be measured.

The R&S FSMR3000 also provides high performance spectrum
analysis measurements to enable complete analysis of
harmonics, spurious emissions as well as noise figure or phase
noise measurements up to 50 GHz.
Equipped with powerful hardware, the R&S FSMR3000
provides additional phase noise analysis. The receiver can be
equipped with a second receive path for high-end applications,
enabling cross-correlation and increasing sensitivity by
up to 25 dB depending on the number of correlations.

New IoT Security Assessment Test

has delivered a new Internet
of Things (IoT) Security
Assessment software solution
that enables IoT chip
and device manufacturers,
as well as organizations deploying IoT devices, to perform
comprehensive, automated cybersecurity assessments.
Increasing numbers of connected IoT devices enable hackers
to leverage cybersecurity vulnerabilities for a range of
attacks including malware, ransomware and exfiltration of
data. According to Statista, the total installed base of IoT connected
devices worldwide is projected to grow to 30.9 billion
units by 2025 from 13.8 billion units expected in 2021.
Recently, researchers at Singapore University of Technology
and Design (SUTD) discovered a group of vulnerabilities,
they named BrakTooth, in commercial Bluetooth chipsets that
impact billions of end-user devices. The SUTD research was
funded with a grant from Keysight. The SUTD published results
were leveraged into improvements in Keysight's IoT
Security Assessment software.
The vulnerabilities, which include 20 common vulnerabilities
and exposures (CVEs), as well as four awaiting CVE
assignments, are found in Bluetooth communication chipsets
used in System-on-Chip (SoC) boards. These pose risks that
include remote code execution, crashes and deadlocks. The
SUTD team responsibly disclosed the findings to the affected
vendors, providing a means to reproduce the findings and
time to remediate vulnerabilities.
