Kevin Hunke (kevin.hunke@fh-bielefeld.de) has been a
Research Assistant in the area of biosignals and electric fieldbased
sensor systems at the Institute of System Dynamics
and Mechatronics (ISyM) at Bielefeld University of Applied
Sciences, Germany since 2020. He studied electrical engineering
with a focus on electronics and automation technology at
Bielefeld University of Applied Sciences (2013-2017) and biomechatronics
at Bielefeld University (2017-2020). He received
his M.Sc. degree from Bielefeld University and Bielefeld University
of Applied Sciences in 2020.
Jacob Engelmann (jacob.engelmann@uni-bielefeld.de) was
appointed a tenure-tracked Junior-Professor of active sensing
in the Faculty of Biology at Bielefeld University, Germany in
2010 and has been a Full Professor since 2016. He studied Biology
at the University of Bonn, Germany where he also earned
his Ph.D. degree in biology in 2002. From 2003 to 2004, he was
a Marie-Curie Fellow at the CRNS Gif-sur-Yvette, France, followed
by a research visit at the University of Tokyo, Japan in
the Department of Physiology. From 2004 to 2010, he was a Research
Assistant at the Institute of Zoology in the Department
of Neuroethology in Bonn, Germany.
Axel Schneider (axel.schneider@fh-bielefeld.de) was appointed
Professor at Bielefeld University of Applied Sciences,
Germany in 2012 and heads the Biomechatronics and Embedded
Systems group. His research interests include walking
robots, wearable robotics and embedded systems. From 2007
to 2013, he headed a research group on Biomechatronics. He
has been Responsible Investigator in the Cluster of Excellence
CITEC (2007-2019) and Principal Investigator in the Institute
of System Dynamics and Mechatronics (ISyM) since 2013. He
studied electrical engineering with a focus on information
technology at Bielefeld University of Applied Sciences (1996-
1999) and computer science in the Natural Sciences at Bielefeld
University (1999-2002). He received his Dr.rer.nat. degree with
a focus on biological cybernetics from Bielefeld University,
Germany (2006).
