The next generation batteries offer thrilling performances
in terms of capacity and reduced charge and discharge times.
This result requires an accurate supervision and management
of the individual cells through the Battery Management System
(BMS).

Industrial CW Laser for Deep UV Raman
With its state-of-the-art
laser controller, Toptica's
TopWave 229 offers a
wide range of options for
operation. While laboratory
users might prefer
the controller's easy to use
touchscreen interface or the TOPAS PC GUI, system integrators
will appreciate the comprehensive command language
that enables smooth integration with their control software.
The TopWave 229 is an exciting new choice for deep UV
spectroscopists looking for an easy to use and reliable laser
that enables the user to focus on their application rather than
worrying about the light source.
With its short wavelength and an ultra-narrow laser
linewidth, the TopWave 229 provides the key features
(< 1 MHz ≙ < 4 × 10-5 cm-1) to take on an important role as excitation
source in the field of deep UV Raman and deep UV
fluorescence spectroscopy.
Excitation below 250 nm is crucial for fluorescence-free Raman,
as this avoids the overlap between the spectral regions
of the Raman signal and the native fluorescence. Compared to
fluorescence, the Raman effect is orders of magnitude weaker,
so that even minimal fluorescence is sufficient to mask Raman
emission. Fluorescence spectroscopy also benefits from
the 228.5 nm emission, because it allows the detection of molecules
with fluorescence spectra in the range ≤ 270 nm, which
can only be excited with shorter wavelength light. As a CW
laser system, the TopWave 229 offers another advantage: it
avoids non-linear and saturations problems common with
pulsed laser sources.
The compact footprint and low heat dissipation of the
TopWave 229 laser head allow for easy integration in space restricted
and temperature sensitive application environments.

Fast Industrial Camera
Imaging Development Systems
GmbH is launching a
new camera family that,
thanks to 10GigE, transmits
data in the Gigabit
Ethernet-based network at
a very high frame rate and
virtually without delay.
The first models with the
IMX250 (5 MP), IMX253 (12 MP) and IMX255 (8.9 MP) sensors
from the Sony Pregius series are now available.
Compared to 1GigE cameras, the uEye Warp10 models
achieve up to 10 times the transmission bandwidth; they are
also about twice as fast as cameras with USB 3.0 interfaces.
The GigE Vision standard-compliant industrial cameras
enable high-speed data transfer over cable lengths of up to
100 meters without repeaters or optical extenders via standard
CAT6A cables (under 40 meters also CAT5E) with RJ45 connectors.
The robust uEye Warp10 cameras are initially offered
with C-mount lens holders. IDS is already working on additional
models. In the future, versions with TFL mount (M35 ×
0.75) will also be available for use with particularly high-resolution
sensors up to 45 MP. The cameras are supported by the
powerful IDS peak software development kit.

where he was responsible for Sensor Communication programs
utilizing the application of sensor radios developed by
ITT as a result of work with DARPA on the Small Unit Operations
Situation Awareness System (SUOSAS). Prior to joining
ITT, he held positions in systems test and systems engineering
with Northrop Grumman in programs related to RF and
IR electronic warfare systems. He is a Fellow of the IEEE and
