Message
Welcome to the summer edition of the SIU Today! As the weather
warms up, we are excited to see an increase in the opportunities for
our members to return to in-person conferences, both at the local
chapter and international level. I encourage each of you to take
advantage of the opportunity to continue to grow your knowledge
and your network at these in-person events. The chance to interact
with members of the fraud fighting community and make those
connections become invaluable throughout your career.
If you
aren't sure when the next chapter event in your area is offered,
check out IASIU's Calendar of Events located on our website.
You will also find on the Calendar of Events the schedule of the
upcoming monthly educational webinars offered free to all of our
members. Over the past several months, the investigative topics
offered at our webinars included Cyber Investigations, Bodily
Injury fraud, Money Laundering, and Bitcoin Primer. Make sure
you are taking full advantage of being a member of IASIU by
attending both the in-person and virtual training. The fraudsters
are constantly learning new techniques to commit fraud, and as
fraud fighting professionals we must continue to learn and adapt.
Of course, one of the best opportunities to connect with the
fraud fighting community from across the globe and to grow
your knowledge is at IASIU's Annual Conference this September
11-14. The conference will be held at the Hilton Bayfront Hotel
in beautiful San Diego. The events begin on Sunday morning as
golfers participating in our annual golf charity tournament play
at the world renown Torrey Pines Golf Course! There are only 60
golfing slots available, so make sure you sign up early. If golfing
isn't your thing, attendees can stay and enjoy the hotel amenities
or take the golf shuttle to local hiking trails. For those attendees
that are ready and registered to obtain their certifications, the
in-person proctored CIFI and CIFA exams will be offered on
Sunday afternoon. After a day of fun in the sun and exams,
attendees will come together for our evening reception, which
is promised to be fun for all. The conference will be full of great
learning opportunities for attendees at all levels of experience.
It will include industry leaders and experts, over 40 breakout
sessions, and our keynote speaker Dr. Kelly Richmond Pope, a
renowned author, speaker, professor, and filmmaker. So don't miss
out on the opportunity to learn and network, register now!
As I think about the annual conference, local chapters, webinars,
SIU Today, NICTA courses, professional certifications, Fight Fraud
Now, legislative and public awareness campaigns, networking
with over 4000 members, and so much more, I am amazed and
so very proud of this organization. My request of you is make
sure that you are taking advantage of all that IASIU has to offer
to you as a member and if you know of SIU professionals that are
not members of IASIU, that you encourage them to join us. The
strength of our organization is in our members.
