Southern Caregivers Uniquely Fill a Niche
HUSBAND AND WIFE registered nurses Blake and
Morgan Watson, who both have bachelor of science
degrees in nursing, founded Southern Caregivers in
Magnolia a little over six years ago.
" We began our business in 2015. We provide an inhome,
personal care service for people with mental and
physical disabilities. Our services include bathing, light
house-keeping, personal hygiene, feeding, transferring,
doing laundry, grocery shopping and errands, " Blake
says.
" Physical activity is important to a person's well
being so we assist in getting our clients up and moving
as much as their condition will allow. " He also says
his staff plans and prepares meals with a mind toward
healthy eating and special doctor-ordered diets. " We
pride ourselves on proper supervision to prevent safety
concerns and provide ever important companionship,
conversation and social interaction. "
The company's 500 in-home staff are trained,
paraprofessional, certified nursing assistants. " Besides
outside training, we provide our own in-house training
in all services to insure they function in a proper and

safe manner, " Blake says.
Southern Caregivers operates across Arkansas with
offices in Magnolia, Texarkana, Hot Springs and Searcy.
As for what stands them apart from other in-home
caregivers, " We have a team of registered nurse partners
vested with ownership in each facility to keep the
quality of care to the highest standards. We're family
owned and operated by local representatives with
lifelong roots in the communities where we operate, " he
continues.
These RN partners include Landon Stuart, Heather
Allen and Samantha Gummeson. " We keep extra staff
on hand so when the regular aide may not be available
to assist a client, the need doesn't go unfulfilled, " Blake
adds.
" We want to keep growing our clientele and staff
to provide a stronger foothold across the state and
continue improving the quality of care we offer to those
who look to us. There are a lot of rural areas in Arkansas
that are underserved. We have a passion to reach out
and fill that niche by bringing independence and a
better quality of life to those we serve, " Blake says.
