ACCESS TO CARE
CAO is pleased to announce that the
Smiles Change Lives program has been
selected as the official access to care
program for our members! Much more
information will be coming your way as
the program gets underway.
CAO CONTINUING
EDUCATION PROGRAM
CAO had record attendance for its staff
training program in Anaheim. Over
200 staff members and doctors joined
LeeAnn Peniche on the afternoon of
Thursday, October 2nd for a dynamic
and informative presentation entitled
"Master Treatment." Several attendees
won attendance prizes during the session and took home iPads or gift cards.
ORTHODONTIC ASSISTANT
PERMIT (OAP) PROGRAM
CAO continues to offer its exclusive
OAP program to orthodontists interested in assisting staff members to
prepare for the final examination to
become certified as an assistant qualified to perform an expanded scope of
orthodontic assistant duties. CAO is
exploring options for delivering new
and innovative training assistance to
member offices that have purchased
the program.
PEER REVIEW CALIBRATION
CAO again sponsored its annual
orthodontic Peer Review Calibration
Workshop. The session was held on
Friday, October 24th, at the Tri-County
Dental Society in Riverside, CA. Over
17 orthodontists became re-calibrated,
and a number of first-time orthodontists participated to become calibrated.
Peer Review is a valuable service
provided to those members who experience a patient complaint.
CAO WEBSITE RESOURCES
The site now features a number of
new resources that offer members the
ability to access and customize AAO
consumer awareness messages for use
in their practice websites and patientoriented materials. A page specifically
