The AAOF Awards Program deadline for 2020
applications is Friday, November 15, 2019.
The 2020 Jarabak Award winner is Dr. Greg
Huang of PCSO.
The ADORE Program launch was extremely
successful at the 2019 AAO Annual Session.
The Resident Gift Program was a huge success, with more than 800 residents supported
by the Foundation through this program in
2019.

2019 AAOF Awards Program Update
The AAOF received 57 award proposal applications requesting funding in 2019. The Planned
Awards Review Committee met in St. Louis in
January 2019 to review the applications that
were submitted. The Board of Directors approved 33 applications for funding, with seven
of those awarded for 2019 coming from PCSO
and providing $144,887 of support. To see the list

2020 AAOF Awards Program
The award materials for 2020 will be posted
on our website in July. The deadline is Friday,
November 15, 2019. If you have questions about

2020 Jarabak Award
Congratulations to Dr. Greg Huang of the PCSO,
who will be receiving the 2020 Jarabak Award in
Atlanta, Georgia.
When asked about his initial reaction when Dr.
Lili Horton called him to let him know of this
decision, he said he was "completely shocked,
surprised, humbled, and honored. The AAOF has
supported so many orthodontists in the early
parts of their academic careers, and I sincerely
hope that they will continue to do so. It makes a
huge difference knowing that the AAOF recog-

nizes the importance
of nurturing educators
and researchers and is
willing to invest in their
success."

Update on New Initiatives
The much-anticipated launch of the Auxiliary Donations for Orthodontic Research and Education
(ADORE) Program occurred at the AAO Annual
Session in Los Angeles. Thank you to Rosemary
Bray and the ADORE team for their dedication
to this newest initiative of the AAOF. ADORE has
been created to allow orthodontic team members
to become more involved with the AAOF as well
as to support the orthodontic specialty by making
a personal donation. Thank you for supporting
the Foundation's mission to continue to advance
this specialty.
At the AAO Annual Session in Los Angeles, the
Resident Gift Program was also launched for the
first time. Through this effort, more than 800
orthodontic residents will receive a one-time
gift of $400 to support their attendance at the
Annual Session, including 145 from the PCSO. The
AAOF believes in education and research, and the
annual session is a wonderful way for residents to
be exposed to some of the best current orthodontic research and education that is available. Thank
you to our donors who helped make this program
possible. We've received several personal notes of
thanks from the residents who have been affected and would like to share them with the PCSO
community.
