Case Report Figure 9. Refinement series beginning (left) and programmed finishing (right) After the patient completed the first 16 aligners, 14 additional aligners were ordered to close some minor remaining spaces, to extrude the mandibular left lateral incisor and canine, and to intrude the maxillary right central incisor. These additional aligners were delivered and changed every three days. Prerefinement and simulated postrefinement results are shown in Figure 9. After the additional aligners were completed, the patient was happy with the results (Figure 10). The attachments were removed, and final clear retainers were fabricated. The patient was instructed to wear the clear retainers for 12 hours every night to allow additional settling of the left occlusion. Six months later, the posterior occlusion was completely settled (Figures 11 and 12). Treatment Results The total treatment time was four months two weeks. The anterior crossbite was completely corrected, and a nice smile arc was achieved (Figure 11). The CR-CO discrepancy was improved. Figure 10. Results after four months and two weeks of treatment. All attachments were removed, and retainers were given 40 PCSO Bulletin Summer 2019
