treatment acceptance.
Instead of sending an email or an automated
reminder call, the office personally makes the
"welcome call" before the first appointment. This
gives the new patient appointment value, builds
the relationship, and decreases no-show appointments and last-minute cancellations.
Preparation for the Exam
SMILE!
Confidence: Make sure you are neatly dressed in
professional attire, have your name tag on, and
your teeth are brushed.
Greet the patient and family members, making
them feel comfortable.
Tour the office and meet the team.

Families
As in teaching, incorporate parental help. Teachers ask for parent volunteers to chaperone field
trips and act as group leaders in the classroom.
Parents can ease anxiety and help patients with
ownership of their treatment. Invite siblings to
be part of the experience by coming back and
seeing what it's like. Dr. Marcel has special clubs
for children younger than 6 so they feel part of
the orthodontic family, too, and will be ready for
treatment when it's time, intentionally setting
them up for success.
The intentional TC takes care of their team, appreciating the differences and similarities in each
team member. Invest in your team members' lives:
find out what they enjoy, what they do on the
weekend, and what their hobbies are. Host retreats
for employees to decompress and bond. At these
retreats, the team can strategize on what is working and what is not working and set one-year goals
for the practice. Most important: have fun!
