CAMT 2019 Overview
Registration overview When you attend CAMT, you are eligible for a complimentary membership for TCTM for the
following school year. I'm pleased to say that 2851 teachers took us up on that offer! We also had several members,
including speakers and exhibitors, who renewed their TCTM memberships at the conference.
We are teachable after all! For CAMT 2019, you may recall that all attendees could preregister for breakout sessions
in advance of the conference. Teachers could select their sessions when they registered, go back online through their
username and password, or download the app and add sessions to their My Schedule feature. This capability, deployed
for the first time at CAMT 2019 in San Antonio, allowed CAMT staff to monitor session registration ahead of the
conference and move sessions that reached capacity to a larger room. We were able to adjust rooms for over 200 sessions
so that we could get more teachers in to hear the most popular speakers!
There were a very small number of issues with attendees not getting into sessions; however, almost everyone was able to
be accommodated for the sessions of their choice and there were no long lines of teachers skipping sessions to get into the
next session! That said, don't forget to schedule time to visit the Exhibit Hall. We have a great variety of local, state, and
national vendors with cutting-edge resources that you don't want to miss.
Preregister for your CAMT 2020 Sessions
Registration for CAMT 2020 opened on January 15, 2020, https://camtonline.org/registration-info/. Since you can reserve
sessions when you register for the conference, we strongly encourage you to register early so that you have the best
selection. When a session approaches capacity, the system alerts the CAMT office and if possible, the session is reassigned
to a larger room and opened up in the registration system.
Session reservations were tremendously helpful for CAMT 2019 for two reasons: teachers did not have to wait in line
for their sessions and we were able to move many sessions (over half of the sessions in the program) to larger rooms to
accommodate demand. For this reason, speakers are notified of their room assignment and capacity in the spring, later
than usual, so they may prepare for the conference.
CAMT 2020 - Vision 20/20: In Focus!
CAMT 2020 will be in Fort Worth on July 8-10, 2020, at the Omni Hotel and Fort Worth Convention Center. Grace Anne
McKay, of Denton ISD, is the Program Chair for CAMT 2020. And she has an excellent committee! When you see them in
Fort Worth, don't forget to say "hi."
