Advanced Textiles Products now
Emerging Technologies Division
T
he ATP board is excited to announce the new name of the division:
Emerging Technologies Division (ETD). ATP has strived to bring
programming and education to its members that harnesses the newest
in textile innovations and cultivates the future generation of professionals.
The Division now has an evolved purpose statement to be an " ...international
resource providing members with the most current information on research,
best practices and innovative knowledge available to advance emerging
technologies within materials, products, processes and more. "
The name change comes along with the update of the Association's rebrand
to the Advanced Textiles Association (ATA), formerly known as the Industrial
Fabrics Association International (IFAI). ATA's new name prompted the
assessment of the similarly named ATP Division. The Advisory Board
thoughtfully considered the current and future initiatives of ATP, with the
determination that emerging technology, regardless of markets served, was at
the forefront of the division's existence.
ETD looks forward to expanding its updated initiative and bringing value to
its members. The board hopes to see ATP members at IFAI Expo in Charlotte,
N.C., from October 12-14, and at the Advanced Textiles Conference on October
11. The Division update meeting will be held October 12 at 1 pm. This is a great
chance for members to ask questions about the name change and understand

For the last year, Accelerating Circularity
Europe has been working with its
European Steering Committee, Spent
Textile, and Brand & Retailer Working
Groups to research, map and identify
expertise and infrastructure to accelerate
the move to circular systems. This work
is now complete. The next step is to move
into the trial phases to demonstrate
what is possible at scale. The first trials
will focus on post-consumer and postindustrial
polyester textiles feedstocks.
Insempra announced a strategic
investment in Solena Materials Ltd., a
synthetic biology company. The investment
will allow Insempra to accelerate its
strategy of harnessing new technologies
to advance biological production
processes, creating new products to drive
the regenerative revolution.

John Tavano has been named the director
of awning, shade and marine sales. With
this promotion, Tavano will oversee sales

Herculite Products Inc. has hired Jake
Ritchie as Midwest regional manager
for the direct sales team, which consists
of the automotive, custom-engineered
solution, health-care, agriculture, and
tent and structure customers.
Ultrafabrics has hired North Carolinabased
Jeff Smith as head of residential,
North America. With 25 years of experience
in the textile industry, Ultrafabrics looks
forward to integrating his knowledge base
into its global strategy.
Archroma announced it has entered into
a definitive agreement to acquire the
Textile Effects business from Huntsman
Corp. Closing of the transaction is subject
to customary conditions and approvals
and is expected to take place in the first
half of 2023.
