he times are certainly changing, and many
community associations are struggling to
keep up with the pace. If it was not already
diffi cult enough to address the day-to-day
needs of a condominium, as costs and the
threat of litigation continue to rise, most (if
not all) board members and property managers will have
large ticket items on their to-do lists in the not-so-distant
future. Whether it is managing the diff ering opinions on
the board, tracking the evolving insurance and lending
markets, and/or assessing the maintenance needs of your
building, the best practice for community associations is to
develop a plan of attack now before disaster strikes. These
challenges raise both old and new questions for boards
and owners, and it is why it is more important than ever
for boards and property managers to understand the latest
best practices and trends so that they can meet the future
challenges head-on.
Over the past year, CAI-NE's Seminar and Conference
Committee has kept its pulse on the timely and trending
issues impacting community associations. The result?
The 2024 CAI-NE Annual Condo Conference & Expo
will educate board members, property managers, and
homeowners on topics such as insurance coverage
lapses, the Corporate Transparency Act (CTA), and the
importance of conducting reserve studies to maximize
building repairs. As always, our presenters have been
tasked with the goal of providing community associations
with guidelines that will both shield the condominium
from potential liability, while at the same time paving a
pathway towards success for years to come. Concurrent
sessions throughout the day will provide attendees with an
opportunity to get answers to questions that confront the
specifi c needs of your board and community.
In addition to presentations from industry professionals,
an exhibit hall of industry business partners - from lenders
to managers, and landscapers to contractors - will be on
hand to assist with all your community's service and product
questions and to discuss your association's specifi c needs.
