Shenghong Petrochemical
Contracts DuPont Clean
Technologies for STRATCO®
Alkylation Technology...
DuPont Clean Technologies (DuPont)
has been awarded contracts to supply
Shenghong Petrochemical Group Co.,
Limited (Shenghong) with a STRATCO®
alkylation technology license, engineering,
and proprietary equipment. Shenghong
is undertaking a project to design and
construct a new alkylation unit as part
of its grassroots petrochemical and
refining facility with crude oil capacity of
16 million mtpa (320,000 bpsd) located
in Lianyungang City, Jiangsu Province,
China. The STRATCO® alkylation unit at the
Shenghong Petrochemical and Refining
facility will be designed to produce 440
kmta (10,987 bpsd) of alkylate product.
The STRATCO® alkylation unit will enable
the Shenghong Petrochemical and Refining
facility to generate low-sulfur, high-octane,
low-RVP alkylate, with zero olefins, that
meets the criteria of upcoming China VI
standards which will take effect prior to
the startup of the Shenghong facility in
2021. STRATCO® alkylation technology
is the established global leader in the
industry with over 100 units licensed
worldwide and more than 33,300 kmta
(850,000 bpsd) of installed capacity.

KBR Awarded Phenol and
Acetone Technology Contract
by Qingdao Haiwan Chemical...
KBR announced that it has been awarded a
contract by Qingdao Haiwan Chemical Co.,
Ltd. (Haiwan Chemical) to license KBR's
leading phenol and acetone technology
for a new phenol and acetone plant in
Qingdao City, Shandong Province, China.
Under the terms of the contract, KBR
will provide the technology license and
basic engineering design (LBED) as well as
technical and training services to Haiwan
Chemical for building a grassroots 320,000
tons per annum phenol/acetone plant
in Dongjiakou Industrial Zone, Qingdao,

Sichuan Shengda & Sichuan Energy Announce Start-Up of New
PTA Line Utilizing INVISTA's Proprietary PTA Technology...
INVISTA's technology and licensing group, INVISTA Performance Technologies (IPT),
Sichuan Shengda Chemical New Material Co., Ltd (Sichuan Shengda) and Sichuan Energy
Investment Chemical New Material Co., Ltd (Sichuan Energy) announce the successful
start-up of Sichuan Shengda's purified terephthalic acid (PTA) plant. This plant, located
in Nanchong, Sichuan province, utilizes INVISTA's proprietary P7 PTA process technology,
with a nameplate capacity of one million metric tonnes per year. This plant also uses
INVISTA's proprietary R2R technology for production of benzoic acid as co-product.

INEOS Oxide Announces Chocolate Bayou, Texas as the
Location for its New Ethylene Oxide (EO) Investment in the
USA...
INEOS Oxide confirms its new 1.2 billion lb (circa 520 kt) Ethylene Oxide (EO) unit
and associated downstream Ethylene Oxide Derivatives (EOD) is to be built at INEOS'
Chocolate Bayou manufacturing works south of Houston on the Gulf of Mexico coast.
A new Linear Alpha Olefins (LAO) unit and associated downstream Poly Alpha Olefins
(PAO) unit are also currently under construction at the site by INEOS Oligomers. Source:

World's Only Natural Gas-to-Gasoline Plant in Operation in
Turkmenistan...
An event marked the official opening of the world's only natural gas-to-gasoline plant
close to Ashgabat, the capital of Turkmenistan. Start-up of the plant has proceeded
according to plan and the initial product meets the agreed specifications. At full
capacity, the plant will produce 15,500 barrels of gasoline per day. The plant is an
important step forward in Turkmenistan's plan to monetize the country's huge natural
gas resource - the fourth-largest in the world - and diversify its export potential. The
contract to build the plant has been awarded by the national gas company Turkmengas
and is based on Topsoe's proprietary end-to-end technology TIGAS™. The TIGAS™
solution is based on industry-proven Topsoe technologies and catalysts, among those
the proprietary SynCOR™ technology. Utilization is very high with gasoline making
up more than 85% of the product stream and 11-13% valuable liquefied gases (LPG).

Linde Signs Long-Term Agreement with ExxonMobil to Supply
Integrated Manufacturing Complex in Singapore...
Linde announced it has signed a long-term agreement with ExxonMobil Asia Pacific
Pte. Ltd. Linde will invest US$1.4 billion to expand its existing gasification complex at
Jurong Island, integrating it with ExxonMobil's project to produce and supply additional
hydrogen and synthesis gas. The project will include building and operating four
additional gasifiers, a 1,200-metric ton per day air separation plant, as well as Linde's
proprietary downstream gas processing units and sulphur recovery plants. Linde's
gasification complex will produce and supply hydrogen and synthesis gas to ExxonMobil
by upgrading the heavy residue feedstock from its new facilities. Linde will also invest
in a dedicated set of pipelines for the transfer of feedstocks and products between
ExxonMobil and Linde facilities. Upon completion, the investment will also supply
hydrogen, carbon monoxide and synthesis gas to other customers on Jurong Island and
