Clariant Catalysts Powers
Ineratec's Green Fuel
Production Technology...
Clariant has joined forces with Ineratec
in the challenge for a greener future. The
companies have entered a partnership
to develop and commercialize novel
technologies for the production of
renewable fuels and chemicals. Clariant
will provide its extensive catalysis
expertise and broad portfolio of syngas
conditioning and upgrading catalysts to
support Ineratec's groundbreaking gas-toliquid technology. Ineratec, a spin-off of
the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT),
is specialized in modular chemical reactor
technologies for producing sustainable
fuels and chemicals. The striking feature
of this company's solution is that the
entire chemical process is realized in
transportable container units. Their gasto-liquids process combines hydrogen
generated from renewable power, with
greenhouse gases (such as CO2), to form
CO2-neutral synthetic hydrocarbons and
fuels. The technology relies on Clariant's
catalysts to convert CO2 to valuable
chemicals, fuels, and additives. The
microstructured core of the modular
Ineratec reactors provides a large surface
for heat and mass transport. Highly
exothermic reactions, such as methanol
synthesis or CO2 hydrogenation, can be
operated efficiently and safely in compact
container-sized plants. This enables

Solenis Joins AlternativePlastics Pilot Project...
Solenis is participating in the Piloting
Alternatives for Plastics project, a global
initiative to help develop the next
generation of fiber-based materials to
replace plastics used in food packaging,
filters, hygiene products and other goods.
Solenis is joining more than 50 other
companies in the technical consortium,
including major packaging and paper
manufacturers, led by VTT Technical
Research Centre of Finland (VTT). During

the 30-month project, the group will work to identify materials and manufacturing
methods best suited for full-scale development. Piloting Alternatives for Plastics will
focus on several technical areas, including the development of breakthrough technology
to dramatically reduce energy and water used in papermaking. Areas of focus also
include cellulose-based wipes and hygiene solutions to replace petroleum-based
nonwovens, as well as high-performance, cellulose-based materials that can create 3D

Anellotech Secures Funds to Develop Innovative Plas-TCat™
Plastics Recycling Technology from R Plus Japan...
Anellotech announced that R Plus Japan Ltd., a new joint venture company, will invest
in the development of Anellotech's Plas-TCat™ technology for recycling used plastics. R
Plus Japan was established by 12 cross-industry partners within the Japanese plastics
supply chain. Member partners include Suntory MONOZUKURI Expert Ltd., TOYOBO Co.
Ltd., Rengo Co. Ltd., Toyo Seikan Group Holdings Ltd., J&T Recycling Corporation, Asahi
Group Holdings Ltd., Iwatani Corporation, Dai Nippon Printing Co. Ltd., Toppan Printing
Co. Ltd., Fuji Seal International Inc., Hokkaican Co. Ltd., Yoshino Kogyosho Co. Ltd.
Anellotech's Plas-TCat chemical recycling technology uses a one-step thermal-catalytic
process to convert single-use plastics directly into basic chemicals such as benzene,
toluene, xylenes (BTX), ethylene, and propylene, which can then be used to make new
plastics. The technology's process efficiency has the potential to significantly reduce CO2

The Chatterjee Group, Rhône Capital Complete Joint Acquisition
of Lummus Technology...
Lummus Technology announced that Haldia Petrochemicals Limited, the flagship
company of The Chatterjee Group (TCG), and investment funds affiliated with Rhône
Capital have successfully completed the joint acquisition of Lummus from McDermott
International. Under the terms of the share and asset purchase agreement Chatterjee
and Rhône committed to acquiring Lummus for a base purchase price of $2.725
billion from subsidiaries of McDermott as part of McDermott's restructuring process.
McDermott and Lummus have entered into a strategic agreement to form a mutually
beneficial arrangement in which Lummus and McDermott will cooperate to contribute

Rezel Catalysts Corporation has been Awarded Two Fixed Bed
Propane Dehydrogenation (PDH) Catalyst Supply Contracts...
Rezel Catalysts Corporation announced that they have been awarded two important
fixed bed propane dehydrogenation (PDH) catalyst supply contracts at Anqing Taiheng
Chemical Technology Co., Ltd., and Shandong Yuhuang Chemical Co., Ltd. Rezel's
patented fixed bed catalyst, Rezel-FXB, is a chromium on alumina based extrudate
catalyst with additional proprietary chemistry, designed for fixed bed PDH processes
including Rezel's own fixed bed process, PropeNEXT™-Fix, and other competing
processes. This fixed bed catalyst will be used in the two operator's PDH units to replace
the incumbent supplier. Rezel PropeNEXT™ series include PDH process technology for
circulating fluidized bed and fixed bed, they also provide catalysts for three types of
dehydrogenation catalysts for fluidized bed, fixed bed, and moving bed. Source: Rezel
