CALL FOR NOMINATIONS
2021 AWARDS OF EXCELLENCE
The Awards of Excellence program honors CAWG members who have distinguished
themselves within the winegrape industry, have achieved excellence and have benefitted the
broader community of winegrape growers through exemplary leadership and outstanding
commitment to the well-being of the industry, California communities and environment.
GROWER OF THE YEAR
LEADER OF THE YEAR
* Is recognized by growers and wineries as an efficient,
successful producer of quality winegrapes.
* Has demonstrated an outstanding personal
commitment to an issue or issues of significant
importance to winegrape growers.
NOMINATION CRITERIA
* Has contributed to the success of other growers.
* Has contributed to the awareness and market success
of a winegrape varietal(s) or an appellation.
* Has demonstrated a commitment to adoption of new
technologies, processes or innovations to improve
winegrape quality and/or profitability; community
well-being; the well-being of vineyard workers; and
enhancing the environmental benefits of winegrape
production.
NOMINATION CRITERIA
* Has successfully and effectively represented industry
interests before policymakers at the local, state or
federal levels of government.
* Has achieved identifiable and lasting changes to
promote and protect the interests of California
winegrape growers.
* Has proactively advocated for adoption of business,
viticultural or environmental practices that have
contributed to the industry's overall success.
Award nominations of CAWG members can be made by individuals or organizations using the nomination form provided
by CAWG. The identity of the nominators is not made public, but will be known to the nominee and judges. The nominator
can only put forward one nominee per award category annually. Award recipients will be invited to attend a reception in
their honor on Jan. 25, 2022 during the Unified Wine & Grape Symposium in Sacramento.
