Adam Campbell
C.E.T.
Adam Campbell has lived in Alberta his entire life, splitting
the time equally between Okotoks and Lethbridge. Since arriving
in Lethbridge, Adam graduated from the geomatics
engineering technology program at Lethbridge College, and
then received a bachelor of science with a concentration in
GIS from the University of Lethbridge. In 2014, Adam completed
his master of business administration, focusing on
public works.
Early on, Adam worked in the oil patch completing geomatics
work, but eventually found a home with the City of Lethbridge.
Adam specialized in public works, specifically water,
wastewater and stormwater. What began as a career completing
GIS work and drafting has evolved into his current
occupation managing the Lethbridge Wastewater Treatment
Plant. Along the way, he managed water/wastewater, transportation
and parks operations departments.
Adam is well-versed in ASET and its governance, given his
C.E.T. certification and former role as president. As a volunteer
in the organization from 2013-2020, he has significant
knowledge of what ASET brings to its membership and
the province of Alberta. Adam was instrumental in the legislative
review process as well as the merging of TPC with
CCETT. C.E.T. certification is important to Adam in demonstrating
his professionalism and the value of the work technologists
do.
As a Council member, Adam will focus on enhancing the
membership services provided to ASET members. In the
increasingly global, competitive world, members need to
be well-supported in building their skills, experiences and
linked with opportunities to continually advance in their profession.
This can be accomplished by expanding the Career
Centre, matching members up with training opportunities,
and proving enhanced meeting and networking opportunities
within their industries.
Members can trust that Adam will be open and available
should they have any questions or ideas for the organization.
They also can be comfortable knowing Adam will form
strong relationships with other Council members, to ensure
a successful, high functioning Council is serving the membership.
Adam
has many contacts within the technology profession,
consulting engineering industry and public works that he
can draw upon to help move initiatives and ideas forward.
Much work is upcoming regarding professional practice
legislation in Alberta. Adam remains a strong advocate that
ASET members deserve recognition in legislation, through a
defined scope of practice. He will continue to push and advocate
within ASET and government until this becomes a reality.
The contributions of ASET members within engineering
teams and the province cannot be ignored any longer.
Adam and his wife Kristen have been married for seven
years. They have two beautiful young children. In his free
time, Adam loves to golf and spend time with his family and
friends.
