I 'M PLEASED TO GREET EVERYONE at the beginning
of the year, and the middle of an industrious time for
Registration Services. Since we're still at the start of this
year,
let's look at
the place from which we're launching.
When comparing 2022 as a whole with the year before, it's
clear that we've had some big wins in terms of membership
engagement, enrolment, and registration options.
Compared to Q4 2021, an increase was noted in T.T. (c18
per cent), C.Tech. (c78 per cent), and C.E.T. (c1 per cent)
applications. In addition, the number of students who applied
for T.T. increased (c20 per cent) and the number of T.T.
members who applied for certification increased (c15 per
cent) when compared to Q4 2021.
Approved C.Tech. (c25 per cent) and P.Tech. (c60 per cent)
applications marked an increase in new members in Q4
while C.E.T. members (d7 per cent) remain steady when
compared to the previous year's quarter.
The 2021 CPD audit has concluded with a compliance rate
of 87 per cent for C.Tech., C.E.T., and R.E.T. members and 98
per cent for P.Tech. members.
With the continued expansion of competency profiles for
the 21 disciplines, Welding Engineering Technology and
Biomedical Technology were selected as the disciplines
for competency profile development in 2022. The competency
profiles have been finalized and are now available on
the ASET website.
If these first few months are any indication, 2023 is looking
to be another strong year for ASET and its members.
My team will do our part by paving the enrolment paths for
even more prospective technology professionals to begin
their journeys.
As we continue work on the expansion of the disciplinespecific
competency profiles and certification exam development,
the scheduled competency profiles slated for
development in 2023 are for Geophysical and Materials.
In addition, recruiting for volunteer positions to develop a
certification exam in Architectural Technology has begun.
If you're in any of those three disciplines, be on the lookout
for available volunteer positions throughout 2023.
Our development strategies as always consider our current
members. Those members who stamp their work using
seals can now use a standardized electronic seal image. As
long as a member has a Notarius account, they will have access
to this streamlining new feature.
With such a great year behind us,
and more ways to serve you constantly
coming down the pipeline, you can
be confident ASET will meet all your
registration needs, whatever they
look like.
