As Albertans tackle this pandemic together and we reflect
on a whirlwind year, let's also take time to focus on other
important things. Let's look forward to virtual family visits,
getting cozy for the winter season and enjoying the snow as
we set our sites ahead to a brighter 2021.
As always, my amazing team in Registration Services are
working our hardest to serve you effectively during this time.
While I have you here, I'd like to share a bit of what's been
going on with us.
The first item of note is that we've now developed a competency summary logbook for current technologists-intraining (T.T.s). This resource allows T.T.s to download the
competency summary in their discipline of practice, helping
them to track relevant work experience. This will help T.T.s
have a comprehensive record of their experience, which
they can use when applying for certification.
Everyone needs a helping hand, especially as they take the
next steps in their professional field. For those interested
in helping T.T.s out with applying for certification, we're currently recruiting application advisors.
With so many of us working from home right now, digital
signatures have become more widely used to sign documents. To address this, we've added a web page providing
an overview of digital signatures. There you can learn about
the benefits and features of digital signatures, how to obtain
one and how to verify signed documents.
We know that when it comes to taking certification exams,
plenty of those we serve prefer to write them in physical locations rather than virtually. For those people, we're happy
to report that the exam centres have recently opened-albeit with limited capacity, and with full adherence to provincial health guidelines.

It's amazing how time flies during a pandemic, and the time
has come once again for annual membership dues. Don't
forget to update your contact information, so you don't miss
any upcoming notifications on your dues!
We're set to soon conclude our 2019 CPD audit, and I'd like
to thank everyone who has entered and will be entering their
2019 CPD activities into their 2019 CPD logbook by 31 December 2020. If you attended any of the free monthly webinars put on by ASET, don't forget to enter that into your CPD
logbook for 2020.
One final thing I'd like to touch on is the student recruitment
video that our Programs and Services department recently
helped produce. If you haven't had a chance to yet, give it a
watch. It's a captivating and inspiring video, and just goes to
show the remarkable results we see when talented individuals have ASET on their side.
