Toll-free 1-866-215-1421 aving lived in cities from Seattle to Hong Kong, there really must be something quite extraordinary to keep Barbara Deutsch in Washington. “It is a civic landscape unlike any other,” she says. “[It] is equally compelling and energetic, and no matter what side you are on, there is a general interest in trying to create change at a large scale.” Deutsch earned a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Virginia as well as a Master in Landscape Architecture from the University of Washington. In 2006 she was awarded a Loeb Fellowship from the Harvard Graduate School of Design and was named a Fellow in the American Society of Landscape Architects this September. But before switching fields, Deutsch was a marketing professional at IBM for ten years, recognized for her efforts with the Golden Circle, awarded to only the top 5% of marketing representatives across the country.
