Dear Walker Wood Foundation:
In September 2017, I left my career of 25 years in
information technology to dedicate the next chapter
of my life to working with seniors. I decided to
enrol in the Social Service Worker - Gerontology
program at Seneca.

Reaching the end of the two-year program, I can
conclude that it was a very good choice. It is
my passion to work with seniors, specifically those
living with dementia.
I would like to express my deepest thanks for receiving
this award. Going back to school after so many
years, with English as my second language, required
many sacrifices.
Leaving an established full-time job had its own
financial implications. It was often a struggle as
I am still supporting my son who is starting his own
business and my daughter who is in her third year
of university. Your support has made a difference
for me and my family and assisted me with focusing
on my studies. I am so grateful for your generosity.
