SSF unveils official Pride flag
As a joint initiative of the Seneca
Student Federation and Student
Services, the Philadelphia Pride
Flag was unveiled at Seneca to
support the LGBTQ2S+ community
and celebrate diversity on campus.

Seneca-TIMSR Fintech Centre
opens in India
The Seneca-TIMSR Fintech Centre,
a collaboration with the Thakur
Institute of Management, officially
opened in Mumbai. The collaboration
will see academic and applied
research collaboration between the
two institutions.

Funding received for new
applied research centre
Seneca received a $2-million
grant from the federal
government to establish
the Seneca Centre for
Innovation in Life Sciences.

Harvesting tobacco at Odeyto
Tobacco was planted and harvested
at the medicine garden outside
Odeyto at Newnham Campus.
The tobacco will be used at First
Peoples@Seneca for ceremonies
throughout the year.

Grad wins Ubisoft grand prize
Graduate Tanya Kan won the
grand prize in the 2020 Ubisoft
Indie Series competition for
her video game, Solace State,
developed by Vivid Foundry,
the interactive digital media
studio she founded.

Teeing off for a good cause
Seneca hosted its annual charity
golf tournament in support of the
Campaign for Students and the
United Way. More than $220,000
was raised for student financial aid.

FCAD graduates celebrate
Oscar win
Three Faculty of Communication,
Art & Design graduates worked
on Pixar's Toy Story 4, which
won the Oscar for Best Animated
Feature Film.

Graduate and former professor
named to the Order of Canada
Seneca graduate Spider Jones
and former professor Sue
Carstairs have been appointed
to the Order of Ontario,
the province's highest honour.

Born to swim
Seneca student, Michelle
Tovizi, won a bronze medal
in 4x100 medley relay
during the Lima 2019
Parapan American Games.

Seneca steps up in fight
against COVID-19
Departments at Seneca rounded
up ventilators and unused
surgical gowns, N95 respirator
masks, hand sanitizers, wipes
and other cleaning supplies
for local hospitals in Toronto
and York Region.
