* Developing a white paper on building code provisions for
use of a single large diameter (24 to 48 in or 610 to 1220
mm) element under building columns, rather than a group of
ACIP piles within a cap.
* Additional work is being performed on data acquisition for
research on TIP testing of ACIP piles. Gray Mullins, Ph.D., of
University of South Florida is analyzing the data and will be
generating a research paper.
* Progressing on helping develop AASHTO specifications for
ACIP pile design.

DFI Europe BIM/Digitalisation

* Committee is growing with representatives from 11 countries.
* Continuing to develop a practical guidance document for
Digitalisation in Ground Engineering.
* Collaborating in the U.K. with the Federation of Piling
Specialists (FPS) and Association of Geotechnical and Geoenvironmentalists (AGG) on open standard for pile construction data, which is currently being circulated for comment.
The standard will be presented at the U.K. Piling 2020
Conference and is also being circulated more widely across
Europe for collaboration with other European initiatives.

* As a participating member of the GeoCoalition Code
Council, the committee completed participation in the ICC
2021 code cycle to upgrade and improve Chapter 18 of the
International Building Code. The GeoCoalition submitted 17
code change proposals, all of which were approved at the
ICC Committee Action Hearings in Albuquerque, New Mexico.
* Continuing collaboration with ASTM Subcommittee D18.11
to promote proposed changes to ASTM D1143.
* Continuing to collaborate with American Concrete Institute
(ACI) regarding requirements for the design of concrete deep
foundations members, which are now included in ACI 318-19.
* Monitoring and participating in the development of a
proposed new ASCE standard for foundation design.
* Developing an agenda of potential code change proposals for
the upcoming 2024 ICC code cycle.
